FC Somers is a year round dedicated travel soccer club for Boys and Girls aged 8-19. It offers the children of Somers a travel soccer experience that teaches the game while keeping it fun. Habitat for Humanity of Westchester
Habitat of Westchester is an organization of thousands of volunteers who seek to eliminate poverty and homelessness throughout Westchester County, and to make decent, affordable shelter a matter of conscience and public action. Habitat needs volunteers for help on construction days, office work and organization, to serve on committees and to help spread the word about Habitat and its activities. Volunteers at building sites are not expected to have professional or construction skills, and ample instruction is provided for the tasks at hand. All levels and types of expertise are welcome.

Rotary International is a worldwide organization founded in 1905 with more than 30,000 clubs and almost two million members. The Somers Rotary Club, formed in 2002, and the Northeast Rotary Club (formerly Katonah Rotary Club), formed in 1929, merged in 2013 under the name of the Northeast Rotary Club. We offer opportunities for community, national and worldwide service, fellowship, and networking with other professionals.
A few of our past and present projects are: publishing "On My Mind", an award winning book of writings from high school students; supporting a school and micro financing program in Haiti; constructing a water filtration plant in Honduras; conducting an annual coat and sweater drive for needy local families; partnering with our sister club in Cape Town, South Africa to outfit a school in Kamiesberg; sending wheelchairs, computers, fire jackets, library books to the needy here and abroad; giving scholarships to local high school students; support for Polio Eradication, a Rotary International project; support for landmine clearance; support for "Mothers To Be AIDS" project in Africa; support for the special education needs of a
deaf child in Honduras; support to local families in financial need; support to Northern Westchester Community Center; installation of a multi media unit at Westchester Hospital; participation in Somers road clean-up; participation in the PBS series "War Stories" with a Somers Rotarian and World War II veteran; housing of Rotary International exchange professionals.

Annual events include Golf Outing, Wine Tasting, Student Variety Show, Carnival Night, Blackjack Ball, and the Harlem Wizards Basketball Game. Awarded more than $1.2 million in grants and scholarships since its inception in 1994, including more than $100,000 in grants designated to install "Power Libraries" at all four schools, which are helping all district children learn in new ways, using technology.Other grants have supported diversity programs, educational trips, classroom materials and equipment, nature labs and art/tech lounges were children can display their work.

The Somers Lions Club, a chapter of Lion Clubs International, is a community service group comprised of men and women; meetings are held on the first and third Tuesday every month.

The Somers Litter Task Force was founded on January 1, 2012. The Somers Litter Task Force is a group of Somers residents, who are dedicated to keeping the roads in Somers litter-free. In December of 2014, the Somers Litter Task Force became the non-profit organization, Citizens for the Beautification of Somers, Inc. The Somers Litter Task Force is accepting tax-deductible, financial donations, as well as dedicated volunteers to help keep the roads in Somers, litter-free.
The Somers Library Foundation is a private, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization that raises funds to support projects that beautify, modernize and enrich the capabilities of the Somers Library, our community’s intellectual and cultural center.

The Somers Newcomers & Neighbors Club (SNNC) is a Club made up of residents from (you guessed it) the Town of Somers! Any resident, young, old, male or female, can join and participate in the organization of the club events, no matter how long they have resided here. The club started in 1969, as a social and informational group, which continues to this day!
Our main informational meetings are our Somers New Year Orientation Party and our monthly meetings. Additional social events include the Re-gifting Party, Potluck Events, Bar Nights and Couples Dinners. Membership dues are $35 per year and include entry to all the meetings. TEAM Tuskers Mentoring is a one-to-one mentoring program in the Somers Intermediate and Middle Schools. Students are paired with a caring adult from the community who has been screened, trained, and has passed a background check. Mentors meet with their mentees for an hour a week during the school year. Mentors serve as role models for the students and provide a safe and nurturing relationship where the student can learn from the wisdom of their mentor, enabling the mentee to be better prepared to face the challenges of today’s world.

The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States (VFW) is the nation's largest organization of combat veterans. Please contact us if you are interested in joining. We are not asking for you to be an active member of our post. If you can be active that would be great, but at a minimum, we are asking that you join so that as a Veteran's group we have as much pull in Washington as possible.
Who We Are: We are the Veterans of Foreign Wars—or VFW for short. Originally founded in 1899 as the American Veterans of Foreign Service, the VFW continues to be a voice for returning and currently deployed service members and their families. The 2.4 million members of the VFW and its Auxiliaries are located in 8,500 VFW posts around the world. We welcome everyone who meets VFW eligibility requirements, regardless of age, race, religion, or gender.
