The 2020 School Tax Bills have been mailed.
The 1st half is due by 9/30/20 and the 2nd half is due by 1/31/21. Please mark your calendars as you will not receive another mailing for the 2nd half. You can sign up for reminder emails at https://www.somersny.com/resources/subscribe-to-news-agendas

Ways to pay:
NEW! Online through the Town of Somers website: We are now accepting ACH and Credit Card payments through our online website. Please follow this link https://somers.municipaltaxpayments.com/ and make your payments from home.
Online Bill Pay through your Bank: Many banks offer online bill pay. You can pay your taxes this way by initiating the bank to mail a check in for your taxes. Just make sure it is made out to Michele McKearney, Receiver of Taxes, include your bill number and address in the memo portion of the check and mail in time to be received by each due date.
Drop Box: There is a drop box outside the side door of the Town Hall. Drop box hours are Monday- Friday from 9am – 4:30pm during the collection. Please make sure to include your phone number and indicate if you would like a receipt mailed to you once processed.
Mail: When using the post office please make sure that your payment is postmarked by September 30th and/or January 31st. If paying on the last day please have the post office hand stamp your envelope.
The LAST DAY to pay without penalty is Wednesday, September 30, 2020 for the 1st half & Monday February 1, 2021 for the 2nd half.

Meals on Wheels programs continue to operate 5 days a week – 2 meals on Friday.
Outdoor seated exercise classes with Lori Barr will begin September 14, Mondays and Wednesdays.
Transportation to medical appointments will resume September 15. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays between the hours of 10am and 3pm.

To limit the community spread of COVID-19,DEC is encouraging hunters, trappers, and anglers to purchase sporting licenses online. Sporting licenses may be purchased online at any time, and anglers may use their privileges immediately by simply carrying their transaction number (DEC-LS#) with them while afield.
Anglers, hunters, and trappers may also use the HuntFishNY mobile app to display an electronic copy of their license. The HuntFishNY app is available for download through the Apple App or Google Play stores.Back tags and carcass tags must still be mailed, and customers should allow 10-14 days for receipt of their tags.
DEC will provide updates periodically via email, social media, and at www.dec.ny.gov. We will also be available to respond to questions or concerns regarding visitation opportunities at email@example.com.

All new exemption, and exemption renewal applications, are due by May 1. All Enhanced STAR renewals are now handled by NY State Taxation & Finance -- call them at (518) 457-2036. For all new exemptions and any required renewals, especially the Senior Citizen Exemption renewal, the Assessor’s Office would prefer you e-mail the completed exemption forms and required documents to firstname.lastname@example.org, or mail to: Assessor - Town of Somers; 335 Route 202;Somers, NY 10589. You may also drop off any forms or documents through the Annex Building mail slot on the right side of the Annex Assessor’s Office outer door. Upon receipt, you will receive an e-mail reply or phone call. For questions, please call and leave a message and we will return your call as soon as possible. If you would like to speak with the assessor, please call for an appointment.

Please access all environmental forms, requests for wetland and steep slope permits, pool permits, tree removal permits, subdivision and site plan applications, lot line changes on line and call the office if you have any questions or problems accessing files. Submit all completed applications and checks (made payable to Town of Somers) by regular mail because money cannot be received electronically, Planning & Engineering, Town of Somers, 335 Route 202; Somers, NY 10589. Call with any questions rather than coming into the office.

Due to ongoing concerns regarding spread and transmission of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Westchester County, there have been some adjustments made as follows:
Please continue to mail your pleas of guilty or not-guilty on Vehicle and Traffic Tickets to the Somers Justice Court via U. S. Postal mail if possible, or you can drop them off in person during normal business hours 9:00 AM- 4:15 PM.
If you have received an Appearance/Pre-Trial Conference or Trial notice re: a TRAFFIC MATTER from the Somers Justice Court directing you to appear. Please pay particular attention to your scheduled time, you will not be admitted to the building until the appointed time.
If you have a matter pending on the TOWN ORDINANCE/BUILDING CODE calendar, you will be notified by mail as to your next appearance date.
Finally, if you are a party to a civil matter, including Small Claims, Summary/Special Proceeding(Landlord-Tenant/Non-Payment/Holdover/Eviction)or Justice Court proceeding, you will be notified by mail as to your next appearance date
